Coming Soon: The Taco Bell Hotel & Resort

¿Quieres Taco Bell?

I know. We normally talk about travel stuff here, so… Taco Bell? In the strangest way possible, “The Bell” is making travel (ish) news.

Introducing the Taco Bell Hotel & Resort

This summer, Palm Springs witnesses the opening of the world’s first (and only) Taco Bell Hotel & Resort. We’ll give you a second to read that again, just to be sure you read that right.

The Bell, as it will be called, is a limited-time “pop up” boutique hotel. Chief global brand officer, Marisa Thalberg, promises the Taco Bell Hotel will be “fun, colorful, flavorful, and filled with more than what our fans might expect.”

Inside The Bell

That fun will include obvious things, like a Taco Bell twist on breakfast and poolside drinks. We expect brand apparel and merchandise in the gift shop, but it goes so much – perhaps disturbingly – further. Taco Bell-inspired nail art, and hairstyles, in the salon. (The mind boggles.) Guest rooms with Taco Bell elements, and exclusive new menu items featured in the Taco Bell Hotel restaurant.

There’s no word yet on exactly where The Bell will be, but you’ll have to get there fast. The hotel will reportedly open for just four days, beginning 9 August. Reservations open in June, we’re told.

Ed. Note: Reservations for the Taco Bell Hotel sold out within a few days of being announced in June.

“Who’s responsible for this,” you may be wondering. Or, perhaps…

Where have we seen this before?

As innovative as this seems, it’s not the first time a brand has taken over a hotel. Budweiser launched the Bud Light Hotel, taking over the Dallas Aloft for Super Bowl XLV, and the New Orleans Windham for Super Bowl XLVII. They went even bigger for Super Bowl XLVIII, rebranding the Norwegian Getaway while it was docked in New York, prior to joining the fleet in Miami.

Coincidentally, if you really want to celebrate, items from Taco Bell’s “summer collection” are on sale now. We would not be surprised if the Taco Sauce beach towels and pool rafts don’t make an appearance poolside at The Bell.
