#Travel140 #TravelTip: Research airport options. Big ones have more flights, but small ones may have other benefits.

Small airports can have big benefits, but this isn’t quite what we had in mind.

Big airports are big for a reason. They accommodate thousands of passengers with many flights and many airlines. But that doesn’t always mean it’s the best airport for you. There may be small airports closer to your home or destination. For example, Los Angeles International (LAX) is huge, but if you’re visiting Orange County, John Wayne Airport (SNA) may be a better airport option. (Plus, you can see some beautiful WW2 era warbirds at the Lyon Air Museum while there!)

Besides location, location, location, smaller airports are usually easier to navigate, have fewer delays, and sometimes have lower fares. To find other airport options, use the Search All Airports option, or search by city instead of specific airport codes.
