#Travel140: The double-edged sword of Just In Case

#Travel140 #TravelTip: How do you decide whether to pack it just in case, or buy it there if/when you need it?

(Posted Monday 2014/03/17)

“Just in case” is a double edged sword. If you need to save space, don’t pack last minute items you’re tempted to take “just in case.” If you really need it, you can buy it at your destination. On the other hand, if you frequently find yourself picking up the same items when you travel, they may be worth the space in your suitcase.

Solve the dilemma by keeping track of what you buy on the road and what comes back unused. If most of your souvenirs are specific travel sized sundries or travel accessories, those are obviously items you could be packing to save a little money. Likewise, if you keep unpacking the same unused items trip after trip, you can save some space by leaving them behind.
