If a picture is worth a thousand words, then here’s an entire short story about our visit to the Courtyard Cadillac Hotel in Miami Beach. For more of the story, see our detailed review.
Chapter One: The Room
Let’s face it: when you check into a hotel, it’s your room that matters the most! Here are some details of our Ocean Tower room with a million dollar view!
The room is designed to take advantage of the view from the moment you walk through the door.
Our room’s Million Dollar View! Literally…the condo you see at the right edge had available units starting at $1.3-million! (We’ll stick with the hotel.)
Rooms in the newer Ocean Tower have somewhat more modern decor that blends Beach Chic with Art Deco.
Our Ocean Tower balcony overlooked the pool and Surfside Tiki Bar as well as the beach.
After taking in the view at the balcony, we discovered the rest of the room wasn’t so bad, either!
We loved the comfortable Marriott beds as much as the clean look and extra plugs behind the iHome docking station.
Given our fondness for java, we were mildly disappointed to see this mediocre coffee maker. Still, better than schlepping downstairs for a cuppa.
The bathroom is quite large and continues the Beach Chic decor with great colors and a tile backsplash. Dual sinks would be our only improvement.
The shower is huge! It is the full width of the bathroom, but has just one small, wire shelf. A stool and or additional shelving would be helpful.
Chapter Two: The Hotel
We loved exploring the hotel and snapped plenty of pictures of our favorite spots, decor, and design elements. If you are crazy for cool Art Deco design, Miami Beach is your kind of place! We’ll spare you our photo-overload, and just share our favorites.
Being seen on a swanky front patio is so very Miami Beach!
The entrance lobby of the Courtyard Cadillac Hotel retains structural elements from the hotel’s past, though the decor has been updated.
The Lounge De Ville (named after the famous Caddy Coupe De Ville) is the central area of the ground floor, serving Starbucks in the morning and cocktails at night.
Looking towards the entrance lobby, the Cafe Cadillac is a gathering spot where breakfast is served in the mornings.
The hotel has many boutique touches, such as complimentary wine tasting in the lobby. (Yes, please!)
Our favorite spot in the Ocean Tower’s lobby space is here, beneath vintage photos and adverts.
A wide promenade sretches along the Ocean Tower lobby areas and the main pool deck, and leads to the adult’s pool.
The main pool wears a lei of palm trees and lounge chairs, much as it was described in the 1950s.
Carrabba’s Italian Grill operates the Surfside Tiki Bar between the pools and the beach, with direct access to the Miami Beach Boardwalk.
The quintessential Miami Beach experience: Lounging on a big white chaise between the pool and the ocean.
This is a large part of the quintessential Miami Beach experience – lounging on a huge white chaise between the ocean and the pool. #Heaven!
Everything you need for a great Miami Beach afternoon: Lounge chairs, a pool, and beach access right around the corner.
Clearly visible from the beach, this marker helps you find your way back when you’ve wondered far down the shore.
If a run on the beach is not your “thing,” there is a decent fitness facility. Notice that it’s empty. π
Chapter Three: The Beach
This is Miami Beach, after all! The seaside is the city’s most iconic and beloved feature. The Cadillac Hotel is in North Beach, roughly four miles from the South Beach entertainment epicenter. Here, the beach is the main attraction.

Need an umbrella, towels, or sunscreen? Look for the blue shirts in the Cadillac Hotel’s beach kiosk.
The guys who work the Cadillac Hotel’s beach kiosk like to play in the sand, creating lovely scenes like this “Pathway to Paradise”!
The Cadillac offers a break from the sun with umbrellas and cabanas for rent, as do many hotels and condos along the beach.
If beach toys just didn’t fit in your luggage, never fear! The Cadillac Hotel has you covered!
In the center is a great option: A lockbox that holds your phone and camera, and locks onto your beach chair!
The Miami Beach Boardwalk extends about four-and-a-half miles from North Beach to South Beach, with paved sections like this one, and great scenery the whole way.
The oceanfront cityscape of Miami Beach is even more attractive than the face you see from Collins Avenue.
Looking north on Miami Beach directly in front of the Cadillac Hotel is one of our favorite views of the shoreline. Looking south is our other favorite view! π
The End. Not!
We do have more pictures, but they’ll be saved for later posts. If YOU have pictures to share from Miami Beach, feel free to leave us a link in the comments. We’re sure everyone would love to see them!
