Four Seasons Signs Up for New Orleans

For many years now, we have been in a serious relationship with New Orleans. We love going to bed nestled in the city’s boozy bosom, and waking up with beignets and lattes. We love meandering the storied streets, each Parish offering its own unique experiences. Wonderful food, amazing music, deep cultural roots that always reveal themselves in stunning, spectacular ways. Yes, we love the Crescent City.

And we love that the venerable World Trade Center will finally get a new lease on life in the form of a Four Seasons hotel! Seriously, what could be better? A fantastic river-front location between the Vieux Carre and the CBD in a building on the National Register of Historic Places? Yes please! The plans fit nicely with the continued redevelopment of the Crescent City. The hotel will have 350 rooms plus 76 condo residences serviced by the hotel, along with a viewing platform on the 33rd floor, two new adjacent buildings (for parking, a restaurant, and meeting rooms), and an interactive cultural attraction called “New Orleans: History at the Confluence of Cultures.”

The lease (for 99 years!) has been signed with the Four Seasons development company, and the $364 million renovation is set to begin this fall with a grand opening scheduled for December 2017.
