#Travel140 #TravelTip: Keep floss in your carry-on. Good for hygiene, thread substitute, keeping zippers closed & more!
(Posted Monday 2013/10/21)
Don’t underestimate dental floss! The strong fibers work as sturdy thread for quick repairs to clothes, jewelry, bags and more. It’s great for keeping suitcase zippers closed, car trunks shut, or packages tied. No knife handy? Use floss to easily cut cheese, hard-boiled eggs, and other soft foods. Some say it works better than a knife for cutting cake.
Floss can serve as an emergency shoe lace, clothes line or even fishing line. Most ingenious use? Quiet a dripping faucet by tying it around the spout and let it trail down to the drain. Water will just flow down the thread instead of drip-drip-dripping all night! Most floss is thin enough to fit through a large sewing needle, and strong enough for almost anything you would use thread, string, or a zip-tie for! Who knew?
